In 2008, on a summer holiday by the seaside in Cornwall, England, James Creasey discovered a new connection with his father, Maxwell, despite the silence and confusion of his dementia. Playing croquet together, Maxwell smiled.

James Creasey,
founder of Jiminy Wicket
Jiminy Wicket™, an international organization founded in 2009,
is using the simple game of croquet
to improve the lives of people
living with dementia.

Through fundraising events, partnerships with care centers and corporate sponsorships, Jiminy Wicket is moving closer to reaching its goal to:

Raise awareness of the disease of dementia
Raise funds for Alzheimer's and dementia research
Raise the quality of life for those suffering with the disease.
A centuries-old game, croquet is easy to learn, inexpensive and simple to play. This activity answers the question of countless families whose loved one has dementia, "What am I going to do with Mum or Dad now?" As dementia robs individuals of their language, memory and physical abilities, playing board games and sports become too difficult. Yet, almost anyone can enjoy a game of Facilitated CroquetSM, played either indoors or outdoors with family and friends.

Thirty five million people around the globe are living with dementia, and 10 times that number are affected as caregivers and supporters.
